The Tears project together with the passive_6628 and Sky projects belongs to the "eyeworks", a series of installations continuously produced since 2002. Eyeworks are virtual-visual environments designed for passive observation and physical perception. They communicate with the visitor through visual and physical sensations under specific conditions without the use of sound and with no interaction.
A computer generated installation, Tears seemingly opens up a theme of intimacy,
sadness and pain. In fact, custom software is used to process input from the artist,
and a computer generates the future appearance of the installation.
The program output is then transferred by the artist to the wall-based installation
in the gallery using glass crystals, which represent tears.
The installation appearence changes according to the lighting conditions.
Dimensions of the installation vary according to the exhibition space.
