Victims: public space, 2005
|
The red laser dot light points to the upper part of the human body exactly in the same way as a sniper with his gun. It silently follows people all over the space as if they were controlled by a hidden hunter. The laser dot smoothly and sensitively slides from person to person. It can track one person at the moment or jump randomly from one visitor to another. One can hear nothing...
The Victims installation consists of a computer controlled laser sniper scope, a camera and drawn contours of human bodies (only if installed in the gallery space) on the floor. The Sniper scope(s)* is attached to a servo and mounted on the wall together with a camera. The camera continuously monitors the space/room. If there are no people/visitors at the moment, the laser is idle. The laser is activated when the camera detects people in the space/room, and a red light starts following them around.
The installation is space independent.
